The main brands from the former FCA group
Here is an overview of the flagship brands that made up the former FCA group before its merger into Stellantis.
Fiat
Founded in 1899, Fiat is globally known for the iconic Fiat 500 launched in 1957. Since then, this compact city car has become a symbol of affordability and friendliness around the world. The Panda (1980) and the Tipo (1988) continue the tradition of practical, compact vehicles.
Today, these vehicles feature a Security Gateway — a true firewall — designed to filter and secure access via the OBD port to ensure safe and reliable diagnostics.
Jeep
Since 1941, Jeep has embodied the off-road spirit with the legendary Wrangler, introduced in 1986. The Renegade (2014) expanded the range with a compact SUV, combining urban versatility with true off-road capability.
Chrysler
Founded in 1925, Chrysler made its mark with the Chrysler 300 in 1955, relaunched in 2005. Recent models like the Charger (originally from 1966, revived in 2005) and Challenger (1970, then 2008) continue the legacy of powerful American sedans and coupés.
Chrysler is among the FCA brands that began integrating the Security Gateway (SGW) as early as 2018. Other group brands like Jeep and Dodge were also equipped with this system.
Alfa Romeo
Established in 1910, Alfa Romeo built its legend with the Giulietta in the 1950s, later introducing the Giulia (2015) and Stelvio (2016) as flagship models of Italian sportiness and design.
Lancia
Founded in 1906, Lancia made history with the Delta Integrale in the 1980s, a rally champion. Today, the Ypsilon (2011) continues this legacy as a premium city car that combines style and comfort.
Dodge, Ram and Maserati
Dodge, founded in 1900, made its mark with the 1966 Charger and more recently the powerful Challenger.
RAM, originally the truck division of Dodge from the 1930s, became a standalone brand in 2009, and is now renowned for models like the Ram 1500.
Maserati, founded in 1914, remains a symbol of Italian luxury with the Ghibli (1967) and more recently the high-performance MC20 (2020), blending elegance with power.

The main brands from the former PSA group
Here’s a look at the major brands that once made up the PSA group.
Peugeot
A car manufacturer since 1896, Peugeot gained popularity with the 205 in the 1980s. Today, it relies on models like the 208 (2012), 2008 (2013), and 3008 (2008) to combine modern design with performance and efficiency.
The brand now uses the “SafeCAN”, an alternative version of the Security Gateway, which blocks all unauthenticated requests.
Citroën
Founded in 1919, Citroën is best known for the 2CV launched in 1948. Today, the brand focuses on the C3 (2002) as an affordable city car, while the C5 Aircross (2017) and Berlingo (1996) provide comfort and versatility for families.
To deliver ever more advanced and connected vehicles, recent models are equipped with a version of the Security Gateway that blocks all unauthenticated requests sent through the vehicle’s OBD port.
DS Automobiles
Launched in 2009 as a premium offshoot of Citroën, the DS 3 (2010) and its Crossback variant (2018) redefined urban luxury, while the DS 7 (2017) showcases the brand’s focus on refinement and advanced technology.
Opel
Founded in 1862, Opel became a major player in the European market with the launch of the Corsa in 1982. Today, its lineup focuses on compact SUVs such as the Crossland (2017), Grandland (2017), and Mokka (2012), balancing agility with comfort.
Vauxhall
Founded in 1857 in London, Vauxhall began by manufacturing marine and industrial engines before releasing its first cars with the Viva in 1963. Today, it shares platforms with Opel while offering styling and configurations tailored to the UK market. Vauxhall models like the Astra, Corsa, or Mokka are technically identical to their Opel counterparts, with only minor design and trim differences.
