Avoid replacing parts unnecessarily.
- Read the code Connect the scanner and record the exact code, along with the engine data captured when the fault occurred.
- Understand the component Find out how the sensor or component works and where it is located on that specific engine.
- Test before replacing A multimeter is often enough to confirm or rule out a suspected component.
- Check the repair Clear the code, complete a drive cycle and scan again to check that the fault has not returned.
